Questions we are asked
My AC was regassed a few months ago and it has stopped cooling again. Why?
Refrigerant does not get used up. If it is low again there is a leak, and the regas only postponed it. We look for the leak first.
Can you repair the AC where my car is parked?
Yes, in most cases. Regassing, leak tracing, condenser cleaning, filters and AC electrical faults are all done on site. A compressor replacement sometimes needs the garage, and then we collect the car and return it.
The air is cold on the motorway but warm in traffic. Is that the gas?
Often it is the radiator fan or the condenser rather than the refrigerant. At low speed there is no air flowing through the condenser, so anything blocking it shows up in traffic first.
Do you clean or replace the cabin filter?
Both, depending on its condition. A blocked filter reduces air flow and causes the smell people notice when they first switch the AC on.
